Ingredients

  • 3 cup Bisquick Original baking mix
  • 1 lb pork sausage bulk; softened slightly at room temperature
  • 4 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded; 16 ounces

Equipment

  • 1 large rimmed baking sheet

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the Bisquick Original baking mix, pork sausage, and sharp cheddar cheese in a large bowl, mixing and kneading with your hands until evenly combined and the dough holds together.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and arrange them about 1 inch apart on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown and the center of a ball reaches 160°F.
  5. Let the sausage balls rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For evenly textured sausage balls, knead until the dough holds together before rolling. Refrigerate leftovers for 3 to 4 days; they can be frozen. For a gluten-free option, substitute a gluten-free baking mix formulated as a Bisquick replacement.
